As you can see in the above photo, there is a huge difference in the breed standards of a Maine Coon vs one with extreme features. I believe that great breeders show at cat shows to insure they are breeding to what the true character of Maine Coons are. Every human is different, and I do respect each breeder and family's POV. It is the right of everyone to choose what they like. But, for those of us that are trying to preserve the true characteristics of the Maine Coon, the photo of the left is the standard. Aspen Maine Coons shows at the TICA cat shows. So, I am speaking from what I have learn from the judges at the TICA cat shows, mentors and cat friends with lots of years’ experience working with Maine Coons. The goal for Aspen Maine Coons is to breed Maine Coons with the true Maine Coon characteristics. Thanks for reading about my POV on this subjest!!!!
